Md. lawmaker aims to ban first-cousin wedlock - Sexual health- msnbc.com

:blink:I couldn't even imagine marrying any of my cousins *shudders*

I didn't realize that only 24 states prohibit first cousin marriage!!!

I also did not realize that it was still legal to marry your cousin in the UK too:blink::blink:

The law was changed by Henry Vlll so he could marry his cousins Anne Boleyn and Catherine Howard and it was never changed back......

There's a place not far from me where everyone seems to be related in some way or other.
Hasn't it been proved scientifically that your kids run a greater risk of genetic disorders though ?

It may be legal, but it just seems so wrong on so many levels, we ain't living on Pitcairn ffs.

The best example of in breeding are the royal families of europe. i think they all go back to a past king of Danemark.

It's just wrong on all levels for me. But we're all distantly related anyway somehow so each to their own, not for me like
