Under a new manager, i'd take him back.

Yep, I don't think he fits the system. Never really had a problem with him leaving either. He kept his mouth shut in that transfer window and played hard. Plus I think Bob wanted McCarthy instead of him. He'd be ace at somewhere like WH or Leceister. I thought he was arguably their best outfield player last year.

Loved the big man when he was here - at his best he laid down a path of destruction, bodies strewn in his wake.

Consumate professional but not sure the attitude of 'play anywhere, Boss' is the best for him - he's a bit of a chaotic presence at the best of times, and needs to shape more of an identity around a position - ie not play all over the park in LVG's school of panic management. If he thinks he's a 6 or an 8 then he should tell Utd to do one and go to a club where he can play there every game.

I'm a massive fan of his but he won't fit in this team plus his elbows are a pain and he gets no protection from the refs. Maybe if we could get him cheap but I would also want him to shave his hair

Every game he has defenders trying to pull the shirt off his back, it's the only way you can defend against him in the air, that's why now and again he lashes out.

The same player who turned his back on play in the 0-3 cup defeat to Wigan, had a tantrum and threw his arms around like a sulky kid? Did some good things for us for sure, but I'm glad his elbows are someone else's problem.
