Vegemite is a poor substitute but if you know nothing else then use that as your basis.

I used to hate the stuff, but Mrs Ijjy made me try it, mainly with melted cheese (on toast of course) and now I love the stuff.

Oh, and Twiglets are immense.

Love the stuff!! I think people who don't like it are probably thicko's and spread it like jam on their toast, you only need a thin spread with butter. Mmmm is niiiiiice!

Mainly because its Bovril's [Poor language removed] cousin. Bovril owns.
