I think what Liverpool try and do though (badly it has to be said) is to connect themselves in their campaigns to "the community" for want of a better expression. That's why I posted this in the EO forum as I thought it compares with Everton's stuff which ignores that pitch.

Oh yeah, sorry. I meant just in relation to flogging the kit. Liverpool always seem to claim the populist ground there: the *Scouse* scally; The Beatles and now this 12th man stuff they seem to think just refers to Liverpool fans.
