Mark Lawrenson and David Moyes.

...TV pundits in general are failed managers/coaches. The fact that they were top players deosn't necessarilly mean they are right. They have opinions like everybody else and folk should either take it or leave it. Personally, I prefer the tactical insight of somebody like Gary Neville as he's only recently come out of the game and he's steeped in what it takes to win.

He is on the radio nearly every Saturday in Ireland on TodayFM.They give live commentary on a premiership game and up to date reports on all the others.
Lawrenson is on most Saturdays and is generally very sensible in his comments.

I think that he lives in Preston as does David Moyes and they seem to be friendly as he often mentions conversations they may have had.
On Saturday he said that he had a few beers with David Moyes earlier in the week and David Moyes had said that he was expecting to be active in the market on deadline day.Lawrenson commented that Moyes would have been disappointed with the outcome.

I have been thinking about Moyes and his future at Everton and I think that what we may see is the manager staying but on a shorter contract, maybe one or two years, with release clauses.

It does appear that there was reasonably substantial money available to spend and if Fellaini leaves in the summer(I believe he will) it will further increase the fund available to spend.I think Moyes will find it hard to walk away from what is the best squad since his arrival with the prospect of substantial money to strengthen it further.I realise the loss of Fellaini would certainly weaken the squad as it stands.

I agree with all but the part in bold. I don't think there was ever more than £2-3m to spend in January, and I'm sure the manager won't spend as much as is made from player sales in the summer.

If Moyes doesn't stop hanging round with Lawrenson he'll be needing some anti depressants. That dour miserable git will bring him down to suicidal levels.

Lawrensen is the worst of the lot.

I think moyes will negotiate a shorter contract this time, I doubt he will walk away or be let to walk. However, he will start prepping for a move. No evidence to any of that just a gut feel.

Sorry, there must be another Mark Lawrenson out there, that I've never heard of.
I don't see much of Lawrenson's stuff, these days, but I used to when I was a regular on the Echo messageboard/forum and I always found him to be OK with his opinions about us.
As I say, I don't see most of his musings, and maybe he has upset some of you, but I don't have a problem with him. At least, I haven't seen anything I took offence to.
