Any local lads been down there recently/ever?

I'm not local but have been down there a couple of times now because my dads company sponsors the club. It's decent entertainment for a very good price. Won 3 from 3 this season in the league below the conference north so fingers crossed for a good season

Highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't been there because the lads need the support (y)

Used to play for their youth set up, went down a few times when I was younger. It's a good bit of footy to see when the mighty blues aren't playing. Seconded.

Local football is ace mate but sadly under supported.... i follow my local team home and away when im off but sadly our home crowds average 200 people a game, I am going to a place called LLanrhaedr next saturday which is i think near oswestry on the border, again sadly our travelling support will be about 30 - 50 people. We play in the league underneath the league of wales.

They usually get about 240/250 which isn't too bad, but when FC United came last time apparently there were a couple of thousand down there

My grandfather played for Marine in the late 20s and early 30s. I have a few of his medals. When I was on my first trip to Liverpool in 1991 I stayed with an aunt in Crosby and wandered over to the ground. Showed this old fella the Lancashire Cup medal and told him the story. I think the guy was the manager at the time. Anyway, they were playing Leek Town in a cup game on that weekend and I got treated like royalty -- got to meet the players after the game, a couple of free scotch with the directors. My then 12-year-old cousin went green with envy. And as it turns out, this really old gent I'd been standing beside on the terraces actually knew my grandfather.

As Beardy asked - didn't Dan (or someone else) mention he plays for them or something?

Not sure mate

was there any trouble?

Yeah, think so, few arrests i believe, mainly mancs though

Ah thats awesome mate, thats what the club is all about

Town green played a scratch/under 18 Marine side yesterday and beat them 7-1 , my mate is coaching the goalie (for town green) to try and earn his badges.

Good set up at Town Green, i used to play under Steve McKuhen in me early teen years, was a great league at the time the Craven Minor, Ste is now the chairman of the league.
