Player Valuation: £225k
After some not very serious discussions on the topic on the Swedish Toffee-forum...

The way I see it there are two alternatives.

Alternative one is pretty and deals with a Moyes with some money to bargain for at least loan deals for players like Pazzini or Saviola.

The ugly alternative that he is totally cash-strapped and has no-one coming in come 30th of january.

Marcus Bent?

I'd hate it. But I'd love it a bit.

Feel free to laugh at me and ask for the whereabouts of Kilbane and Cadarmateri. But I can see an indian summer for this mercenary.

We ain't getting anyone in, not even a loan.

Considering we have had no strikers for weeks so you'd of thought it might of been a bit urgent to get one in. 2 weeks into the transfer window and nothing.

With us still winning regardless i reckon the club will not bother and save their money and wait till Saha is fit/use Anichebe.

He lost interest after a year, look at how many clubs he's been at & how long he's stayed at each 1. His head went so he had to go. Signing him back would be the act of a desperate club, we're desperate so it might just happen, really doubt it though

There is only one Bent i would'nt mind and that is Darren but we wont get him either. Going fo Marcus is a step backwards for a club that should be moving onwards and upwards.

After his performance in that Millwall FA Cup game, I don't even want him to come and visit us. He's not a terrible player, but as you say, after a while he gets itchy feet and he's gone.

He be OK to have for the rest of the season and as a reserve in future seasons. He played really well for us in 04-05, and works with Cahill extremely well. He holds the ball up for the midfield as good as anyone.

What a load of utter bollocks, he gave 100% everytime he turned out in a blue shirt, granted he's not prolific, but he always ran himself into the ground, as a stopgap, I'd have him back in an instant

He gave his all in a large number of games he played for the club but to suggest he gave 100% everytime he turned out in a blue shirt is slightly over exaggerated. The lad done well for us but he is a journeyman and him returning to the club is a massive backward step.

His head went & he wasn't interested in the 2nd season, all he did was cry & whinge when someone played a ball that was 10 ft away from him. In his 1st season he ran his balls off, chased every lost cause & was good for us, in his 2nd he just wasn't as arsed & had to go. He was a good signing for us because we were desperate then too & he did a good job for a year & we sold him for a good profit but to say he gave 100% every single game he played for us is simply wrong

That briefing sounds very similar to Kevin Campbell's first full season at Goodison. You are so right about Marcus Bent mate.

So if he signed for us this he would be thinking, I've already worked my stones off for this club, think I'll just go through the motions? He would be perfect for Cahill to support for 6 months

He at times did go through the motions mate. I liked him but i still believe we should be moving forwards, not backwards.
