Marco Silva feels let down by transfers?

I've not lost my head. I just don't see why brands is flavour of the month when he is still backing a hopeless manager and his signings are not delivering on the pitch.

Every who has been involved over the past 5 years should share the responsibility. How so much money has led to such failure and so many problems beggars belief.

I want to see better. Brands job is ultimately to improve how we play football. He can't be absolved of all blame. If he is worth his salt he will have a new boss in charge over the next fortnight, and someone who will be willing to play to our strengths and instil belief.

How about judge the DoF when we see HIS signings play under HIS manager, eh?

He plays 1 way. The tactics are the same. The formation the same.

Key one - He has 8 attacking players yet none of them can score or create. We are toothless. Even if you do not rate any of those 8 players, he still has more at his disposal than a large majority of the rest of the premiership. Yet we can't score.

That fault is with the management. Not the squad. Not the DOF. The manager.

Silva made the same excuse at Hull and Watford. I for one can see right through him now. I really wanted him to succeed after Koeman and Allardyce. However my faith has now been well and truly shattered. He is simply out if his depth.

Taxi for Marco

Let me think, what other manager who we had that was utterly defensive and used to blame others for his failures:

Only just spotted this article from yesterday;

Some interesting quotes.

He feels confident he has the support if Brands - he's not going to say otherwise...

But the interesting bit I think is later in the article, when he downplays the panic but says players come in too late in pre-season.

Is it a valid excuse?

Not convinced personally when you consider the squad he has vs the teams we've played and the performances we've put in...
He showed what last season? It was dreadful by and large with a purple patch.

Silva and Brands are the new Chuckle Brothers, without the tasteful shell suits!

I do feel he was let down a bit. Supposedly our targets were already lined up at the end of last season yet we were scrambling around on deadline day to get players in. What was the bid for Doucoure all about? Gbamin doesn’t get any pre season then were forced to play him because Delph and Gomes got injured. Then surprise surprise Gbamin gets injured (I wonder how much his lack of pre season contributed) and we lose CB and CM cover in one fell swoop. No alternative to Zaha lined up. Etc etc. Brands equally culpable imo

All he’s done this season is offer excuse after excuse. He has done nothing to change things around with the formation or tactics. It isn’t working. When you are a manager in any business, you have to stop being stubborn and accept when things aren’t working and change things. His inability to recognise this is surely going to be his downfall.
Ok we all think that we should have got another centre half in during the summer but centre halves don’t create or score goals. The way you attack creates chances and score goals. That is down to him.

My issue is that the players letting us down arent the new ones, the old players are showing no sign of improvement or understanding of their roles. The likes of Digne, Richarlison, Keane and Sigurdson seem to be getting more ineffective.

It's not just the players, it's the system he is persisting with week in and week out! Zonal marking cost us the game, no drive forward through midfield, resulting in no service up front! Silva should set up to attack the ball in every department and then he will get results. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting a different result!
