Sure is. All the waste food gets dumped into the sea which attracts fish, which attract bigger fish which attracts sharks.
I was on one rig last year and everyone was at the edge watching a pod of dolphins swim about. All of a sudden the dolphins race away. We wonder why until we count 6 huge sharks swimming around underneath.
