Man City financial fair play...

The Guardian here reports that Hart and Milner are the only 2 homegrown players on City's squad, but I get a different number... maybe I'm counting it wrong.

Taking the UEFA article at face value, these are the homegrown (same FA) players that could count towards City's 8 from the First Team: Hart, Wright, Richards, Lescott, Milner, Barry, Sinclair, Rodwell, Guidetti, Clichy, Boyata, Lopes
From the Reserves: Nimely, Rekik, Scapuzzi, Wabara

Here are the players that could count as homegrown towards City's 4 required (from City): Hart, Richards, Guidetti, Boyata, Lopes, plus the Reserves: Nimely, Rekik, Scapuzzi, Wabara

Not sure how many of those they want in their European 21, but doesn't seem like it's a difficult task for City to meet the requirements.

Yeah, they don't need to be English, they just have to have spent an certain amount of time in their early development in this country. Still, it can't be wise to unload so many English players without replacing them and I can't see them letting too many reserves get anywhere near the first team.

Great, we may get a massive £380k at best. By the way, playing in the playoff round of the CL includes €2,100,000 prize money. €8,600,000 if you qualify for the group stage and so on.

Be hilarious if they fined the other lot over their Warrior Sports deal, even if they fined them 5 quid.

Means next to nothing. Firstly, they would have to match any offer(s) and secondly they'd have to convince Fabregas to chose them over any rival offers. All hypothetical though.

no they dont, if Barca accept a bid from a club Arsenal can then activate their £25m buy back clause. No matter how much anyone else bids.

Plus Fabregas would only go to Arsenal in this country whilst Wenger is about

Ahh, didn't know they had that clause.

Not sure about the second part though I reckon 250k-300k per week would test his 'loyalty.'

Not according to Balague they don't

"My information is that, contrary to many people's beliefs, Arsenal may think they have an emotional pull on the player, but they do not have a contractual first option on him.
As things stand,
Manchester United, with a bulging treasure chest and a desire to invest in some of the world's best players to resurrect their fortunes, are probably favourites."

"Fabregas has decided to stay one more year at Barcelona. Unless he has changed his mind. I don’t know”, revealed Wenger.

“But that’s what I have been told. We have the clause in his contract so we would be on alert but at the moment that’s not something we are after.”

If Arsenal do reignite their interest in Fabregas next year, they would receive priority over other clubs and be able to activate a £25m buy-back clause which was included in the original deal that saw him move to Spain.

Who to believe? a known bullshitter in Ball bag? or a man who was actually included in the transfer deal?

The detail of the clause wasn't quoted by Wenger himself, so it's all speculation.

Ultimately whatever clauses do or not exist, it'll be down to the player himself where he goes and I'd have money on that choice not being Arsenal, who have Ozil and Ramsey in the role he'd want to play anyway.
