Yep, Platini just said there'll be no exclusions from Uefa football.

Made it clear he's not happy about PSG and City, but he's not going to risk actually doing anything about it by the looks of it, too big stakes for everyone involved.

LOLZ at Financial Fair Play. Was never going to ever mean anything.

R.I.P Financial fair play

Born 2012 - Died 2014

So young :(

This reminds me of a story I once read in Ireland.

During the property boom in Dublin a developer wanted to buy a row of old derelict Georgian houses.

They were in such a bad state of disrepair that it would have cost way too much to do them up so he said he would buy them and demolish them so as to build a block of appartments.

The estate agent said he wouldn't be allowed to demolish them as a preservation order was on them and the facades were listed buildings.

He asked what the penalty was for demolishing a listed building and seemingly it was a fine of twenty grand or something.

So he bought the row of houses...sent a wrecking crew in...paid the fine...then proceeded to build his block of appartments and flog them for mega bucks.

Moral of the story...you can't punish these mega rich clubs with fines.

Bucking them out yer competition is the only sanction they fear.

Well done, Platini. You are a toothless tiger.

In essence, this is the same culture at the top that gives us the prospect of a World Cup in Qatar. All respect to the folks down there, but we don't need a brain transplant to figure out that a serious injection of money into the game (both seen and unseen) is always welcome. The rest is just lip service, and you can be sure that all the right folks have been quietly compensated for their understanding nature.

I can hardly type Financial Fair Play into this post without collapsing in laughter.

"Look at this! They believed us! HAHAHAHA!!!!"

Platini gets the 98 world cup for France, gets loads of stadiums built, then gets Euro 2016 for France, then gets the stadiums renovated, then introduces FFP, then rules out sanctioning PSG for their backdated Qatari sponsorship deal.

Ooh la la.

It's going to be embarrassing for them if they don't take action, surely? There's no point announcing these measures in a blaze of publicity then allowing teams to take the p1ss year after year.

I can't help thinking that's why want to expand the never sold out Etihad..i,e stadium costs don't count for FFP so they'll just allocate 'overheads' to this project which should be costed elsewhere. Look at Liverpool passing off a cost of £50m on discontinued plans to build a stadium.

It was designed to protect the established mega European teams from being usurped by young pretenders, but now PSG are now one of the young pretenders, Platini has bottled it. He had his eye on the Russian clubs, City, probably others as well.

You just know what would happen if we got bought by Sheikh Megabucks.

i reckon if PSG weren't involved platini might have banned Man City.....now the rule is worthless....what happens next season if say Real Madrid break the FFP limit.....if uefa try to ban them, they'll just appeal and say the precedent for punishment was set when Platini let Man City & PSG off with a slap on the wrist....
