Malky Mackay

Bit of a difference though... For one, Evans wouldn't be a managing a group of women in their 20s if re-employed, whereas Mackay will be managing a multi-ethnic and religious group of people, so his 'crime' is directly related to his ability to do his job.

Secondly, what Mackay did is utterly 100% proven; the Evans conviction is shaky to say the least, but that's by the by as rehabilitation is what it is.

No problem with Mackay being given the role as he's had a form of rehab of his own, but what Whelan has said makes it very difficult to say with a smile on my face as Mackay really should come out and disassociate himself with the comments of Whelan immediately. He hasn't.

You sure? Didn't he contradict Whelan in the press conference and say he's 'made a mistake', even though he's not been convicted of anything by the FA or more importantly the British justice system.

However you seem to think it's expectable for a CONVICTED RAPIST to resume his career, who's only just served half his sentience but still under licence and yet you see nothing wrong with that?

Weird logic that Tubs.. very odd.

Well most people here believe there might have been an injustice in court in the Evans case, it's nothing to do with being liberal or forgiving imo.

Yeah but Evans has been found quity mate, whether the Grand Old Team legal experts got him off means [swear word] in real life. Try telling the jury of his peers who all thought he was a scumbag [swear word] he's alright and wouldn't do that sort of thing, or even the 2 panels of experts who think he should never have the right to appeal.

Malky Mackay is undoubtedly an idiot and a nasty, vile human being but his views should not prevent him from gaining employment.

Same with Ched Evans really, better he's in employment and paying taxes (I presume he's not one of these footballers who set up a private company for themselves to get around paying the right amount of tax for an individual)

I'm glad Mackay has got his career back on track. He's been very publicly shamed and seems to want to change or at least be seen to change his attitudes. Plus he's never actually committed any acts of discrimination and the texts where semi-private so essentially what he's being shamed for his attitudes which sounds a bit to me like the thought police which I don't approve of. I'm also glad because it will piss of Vincent Tan.

As for Evans. I don't see how you can have sex with two men one after another where one gets convicted of rape due to her being drunk and unable to consent while not the other one. Did she sober up in the time between? It sounds to me like the jury convicted him of being an asshole but he was convicted and I know nothing about the case's details so I'm not one to judge. Either way he's done his crime, he's served his time and in our society he's now entitled to get on with his life. If you continue to enact revenge on past criminals then it totally destroys the incentive for them to be rehabilitated. If the punishment doesn't meet the crime then perhaps it's the length of sentence that needs looked at.

How is it? Mackay is going to be managing a multi-ethnic group. I'm not saying either should be barred from the job, but I am saying he's started off on the wrong foot, thanks to Whelan.

And people seem to think that shouting the words "CONVICTED RAPIST!" means something in relation to employment after his release from jail, and I genuinely have no idea why that is. It's not me who thinks there's nothing wrong with that; it's the law itself.

If all of our private messages were made public I am 100% sure we'd all be called racists and homophobes, etc, even if we don't think we are. I am not defending him, but it is his private messages we're talking about here, and from 10,000 there were about five examples. If I really didn't like somebody I might use strong language to slag them off to a close friend, doesn't make me a disgusting racist. I think it is very underhand the way his private messages were made public and used against him.
