Understand Pete, can we honestly say with confidence who is pushing who?

Russia is pushing the EU at the moment, but it was the EU who were pushing Russia initially. We now have a situation in Ukraine where Russia needs an absolute link with the Crimea. The bridge just won’t do it. I expect Russia to push across along the bottom of Ukraine to form the link. Something has to give......

I don't think the EU alone would stop it and the major player in NATO is led by a corrupt property developer who is in hock (bet they have enough on him to destroy him) to Russia. Away they go then...
