Might be a bit of a silly question - I haven't been following the forum for a while - but what the hell happened to Gueye? He looked quite promising; strong and confident on the ball, for a young lad.

Maybe I'm missing something? Did he have a clanger? Is he on loan? Was there an incident involving toys and a pram?

He played a lot year before last, but then we bought in pienaar, mirallas, oviedo and naismith last summer and he dropped down the pecking order quite a bit.

Last year he played well against orient then came on half time in the derby and stunk the place out. And apart from a couple of fa cup cameos that's the last we've seen on him.

Went to loan in Brest last spring and came back without really doing much. Not in Bobby's plans at all, this year.

Honestly, I've never been convinced he can make it in this league. Tricky enough but just doesn't have the pace which is vital in the prem.

We should be seeing if anyone on the continent is willing to pay 500k plus and get rid if they are, imo.
 
Comprehensive summary. Fair points, well made.

Maybe I was being a bit naive, but I thought it was a bit much to ask him to jump into the action. He did seem a bit lightweight, but I thought that a bit of a run and some experience might have helped him shine. I know he was a bit of an extra, in a time of need he filled a spot, but I was wondering why we hadn't seem him at all. No sign of a loan out, or him being sold.

It's a tall order, breaking into the bench atm. Nice to see, some days, that we've got top quality on the bench as well as on the pitch.

Not sure on his wages but pretty sure his contract is until summer 2015. Someone must have had faith in him at some point to put him on contract for so long.

Quick google shows about 12k a week.
