Mad Max was good because it was raw, gritty, low budget with a new idea.

Spend loads of money on an old idea, you get 'Beyond the Thunderdome'.

the extraneous stuff on the side was CGI but I don't think many of stunts were. You can do all kinds of stuff at slow speed and make it appear fast. Hell South Korea does it all the time

I used to watch "Road Warrior" and "Blue Velvet" almost every day after school with my best friend back in 7th grade. I recently re-watched Road Warrior again and was surprised at how well it held up. The new trailer looks promising but the ridiculous amount recent prequels/sequels/remakes suggest that I shouldn't get my hopes up.
