Macc have always been a very weird club, I worked for a company that essentially did free printing for them as the manager was a Macc fan.

The ownership always seemed like absolute yahoos who had no idea about how to run a club, they were always a couple of steps away from becoming big time in their eyes, but they were run like a proper grassroots club. They ended up training in the same gym as me for a while, entire culture of the club was awful.

£500k - the weekly wage for a couple of Premier League players.
Messi wouldn't even think about putting on his shinpads for that.

It reminds me of the old joke, that if you owe the bank a few thousand that you can't pay, then you have a problem. If you owe the bank tens of millions that you can't pay, then they have problem.

I'm afraid a lot of the clubs at the lower ends of the league are in the former category and the banks/ tax man/ etc. are willing to take a haircut and get what they can at the moment.

It's a shame for them and their fans who I am sure love their club as much as we do with Everton.

Shame. Prem will do sod all about it like.

Nor should they.

Most lower league / non league clubs who go bust do so because they have been poorly managed. They spend more than they can afford, chasing success. If they get bailed out by richer clubs, it would just encourage further recklessness.

It's a shame for the fans, obviously. Maybe they can reform and start again as a fan run club. They'll rise up the non league pyramid until they find their natural level.

Just ridiculous.

EFL once again proving their ineptitude. How long until the breakaway.

Wigan owner queries if he can place into Adminstration, Parry acknowledges that, Wigan get put into Liquidation, lose their assets and go down, despite saving themselves from the drop with impressive performances.

Bury - Gone, due to lack of Fit and Proper Persons
Macclesfield - Stayed up, docked them just enough points to be relegated - now gone like Bury, due to allowing an unfit owner in.

Yet Sheffield Wednesday didn't go down, the owner is secretly bankrolling them through all sorts, and they'll probably survive. When they shoe fits.

The thing is, when all these issues in the lower leagues are caused by owners rather than simply money then when do you step in? All well and good asking the premier League to help lower League clubs (which generally I support ) but if the ones running the club are at fault then it would be funding them to keep running the clubs into the ground.

I want to see the rich teams help lower teams financially when that's all the issue is. But a dodgy owner wasting their money? There is bigger issues there.

Entire culture of the town is awful.
