Hey guys, first ever thread here after a year and a half on the site so be nice.

Or don´t be nice.

Whichever.

Going to Lyon tomorrow for a couple of nights with some friends to visit another mate who is working nearby.

Any recommendations on good boozers and clubs, or anything else....? Although I have a feeling it will just be a liquid weekend, with minimal if any sightseeing.

Preferrably not with pounding electronic music, not too young a crowd...25+ and any bars which play good music would be sweeeet. I´m used to clubs until 6am here in Barcelona, but no idea what France is like for that.

not getting too much but tips from yeeeears ago when i google this, and I don´t trust my catalan friends at all when it comes to organising a good night out here, never mind in another city!

Couple places mentioned to me were Ayers Boat and Cafe Leon.

Not sure about nightclubs in Lyon but if you are into food in any way then Lyon is an incredible place to eat out.

Food for all budgets from 3* Michelin to simple bouchons.

Try Bouchon La Jura, has probably the best tripe dish I have ever tasted......

No idea about Lyon, sorry, but where do you go in Barcelona?

Neither. Been there a few times, twice last year, and would like to go back again in the not too distant future, and was just wondering where a 'local' went. Remember on my first trip going to a little club (think it was on Placa Reial), really small, had stairs on the right going up to a balcony, played lots of house music?

Macarena club I think that is! You´ll get locals and tourists there. Tiny place.

I´d recommend going out to Gracia if you are here again, doing the bars around there.

Well I talk, write and eat tripe lol.

If you head off to the Croix Rousse market it has a large number of street food stall which are very good value. Also has some very good but inexpensive restaurants. Fixed price lunch or early dinner is the best way of eating well and cheaply. Seem to remember La Brasserie Chantecler was very good.

Difficult to eat badly in Lyon to be honest but I'd definitely look at the food stalls in Croix Rousse.
