This riot led to Luton banning all away supporters from Kenilworth Road for 5 years until 1990.

Thatcher wanted to bring in ID cards for all football supporters.

Also, it was part of the momentum towards UEFA banning English teams from Europe after Heysel, because of this, the riot at St Andrews (same day as the Bradford fire), etc.

The sad thing is, Millwall fans haven't changed, throwing bottles at the referee during the win over Aston Villa the other night - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/21214635

Hope the game passes without incident.

I know some of the Luton 'MIGS' well. They are decent lads out of the football game.

They love the fashion Etc.. Its a throwback.. and the younger members here wont even know what Im talking about, but its still a way of life to some lads.. as bonkers as that sounds, and Im not condoning it for one second before the PC brigade get on my case.

I'm from luton.

The MIG culture amounts to about 20 or 30 lads throwing a few coins and having a few scraps. Hardly prevailant anymore.

Will probably go down for this. Koff millwall I'll well hurt all your fans with my fists of fury.
