from what ive read about this 1020, its meant to be an awesome camera basically with the capabilities of texting and calling somewhere inside. As for the operating system, its meant to be nowhere near as good as what iphone or samsung use but im not a huge app fan or anything.
 

Great camera, nothing else going for windows mobile though. You're into a world of zero apps outside of a few obvious ones.

If you literally make and receive phone calls, text, and e mail and pretty much nothing else, then the phone is good. If you are looking for a smart phone though, avoid windows mobile. You'll find literally zero apps out there for it. Example, forget online banking, there are no apps. Forget shopping online outside of e bay, again no apps. Sat nav, you'll have one choice pretty much, and that's to use the Nokia app. I could go on and on, the OS is very poorly supported.

If you're aware of it's limitations though, and are happy to just use the phone as a fairly basic phone with a web browser, then it's a good phone all in all. Otherwise stick to Android or iOS.
 
ye good points, i ask myself do i really use apps on my current iphone

i suppose every 4-5 months i look at the apps store and may download 1 or 2, but nothing worth noting, for example i have facebook app, but i can just use my phones internet browser and type facebook.com instead...

tv guide app, just type tvguide.co.uk

its being release in usa before here, so will see what users think first.
 
I have been a loyal Nokia user for many many years. Always at the front when it came to new gadgetry and stuff. This turd however is woeful.
Crashes, freezes mid task, camera is awful, auto screen rotate is SO annoying and cannot be switched off, battery life is abysmal, i put it to the battery save option as soon as i take it off charge in the morning otherwise it's fecked by midday. I could go on but i'm even boring myself.


i will NEVER get another Nokia windows phone
 

The new Sony Z ultimate phone looks like a good buy, it's out in a month or two. Bit big for a lot of people, but it comes with a little handy secondary bluetooth headset/ handset thing.
