Jesus, stop being drama queens. I did 4 years in Ukraine, and every winter we were sub-zero non-stop from the end of December to about mid-March. Temperatures often dropped to -25/-30c but everyone just gets on with things.

When it happens regularly, you can build and structure your life around it. Triple pane windows on houses, insulated pipes, etc.

When it happens once in a decade, nobody is really prepared for it, so believe it or not it sucks!
