Jesus: I read the story about an hour ago and it was 75 dead, an hour latest over 150 dead, and confirmed there were over 700 in the mine at the time.

This is going to be very, very bad.

I can't remember this many disasters in such a short period of time.

Potentially 1000 people dead in three months in three incidents.

It's the reporting thing. 100's die every month in Iraq but you rarely here of it. The news stations love this disaster stuff though as it gets viewers.

These aren't 'disasters' though, these are psychos blowing people up, you cannot do anything about that, as sad as it is.

The ferry crash, the mine explosion, the unexplained plane disappearance... these things all happening at once are crazy, that's all.

I get what you mean though; the media loves a good death story to sell their news.

I guess it's like when a celebrity dies, within the same week another couple will snuff it too. Or when you buy a new car, you notice every other bugger has the same one. But there has been some sad stuff lately, that Korean boat was awful.

Terrible mate, awful news recently. Another one was the random knife attacks in China train station start of the year that left 100 dead. Wonder what'll happen next.

I'd say they are - any kind of loss of human life in the way people die there (or anywhere else) is a massive disaster. I can see where you're coming with the psychos though, and it is super sad.

Very weird series of events too, gotta say. I personally can't remember stuff like that happening in the recent years... Awful really.
