Confirmed what most of know already on wages etc, no one is making money, Liverpool should have gone etc, Harry is a lying **** and that nobody in the game is responsible for the money, apart from taking it.

The Platini stuff and the fact that the premier league chairmen can't agree on a formula to base wage levels on was probably the most enlightening.

Dave Whelan on his pact with the likes of Bolton, Blackburn and Wolves etc on a side agreement on wage levels was interesting. Not more than 2 players on more than £20k per week. Don't think we will have many 1st team players on less than that and we can't compete with the big boys.

Hope the Platini thing stuffs the big 4 for CL money and starts to even up the PL, however it will probably cause more upset if English teams aren't allowed in. What they didn't say was that clubs who qualify in the league but who are disqualified via the new rule will pass their place to the next team, in finishing position, from the same league that pass the criteria. Now that would be revolutionary.

that club would then probably need to lay out a wedge to try and make a go of c.l. though and then would fall foul of the regulations themselves.

The outlay needed to make a go of European Football, if you don't reach the latter stages (1/4's) doesn't get recouped in 'prize' money.

Agreed mate, under the current operations.

But what if the only clubs competing did pass the new rules and all the current clubs competing failed. Not sure they all would like, assume the Germans would be ok as they are often cited as being in control of their finances.

One thing that may happen is that the top clubs would stop giving silly money to loads of players and the natural market value of players would fall.
