Long term bet

Thinking of putting a few quid on Froome to win the next few Tours.

Any of you kids ever done a long term bet, where you are waiting a while for any potential winnings? Anyone waiting on any? Good or bad experiences?

Sounds like a good bet - bit risky though in terms of an injury or an accident can rule a rider out of a GT. Maybe the bet could take this into account?

Like LA lived for the Tour and that was that, no real commitments elsewhere over the season. Froome looks a more rounded rider who will be taking on classics, doubling up the GTs etc. so more of a risk he'll misfire or be injured one year. He's in a league of his own though right now.

Yer I think he is at a good age and he has said he will target the tour for the next 6/7 years

Don't know mate, his Time Trialling is pretty poor compared to Froome.

...I'm waiting to back Poker de Sivola for 2014 National. Ferdy Murphy has moved his operation to France but has hinted that this is his one aim. The horse isn't available in most lists as yet, but if you see a bit of 50-1 available then its worth a few quid each way.

Not the same as your one as in waiting age's to find the result but what I am doing is seeing how far I can make £10 go

I have done 3 odds on favs this weekend Madrid,City and Milan which will get me back £24, I will take that and stick it on 3 more odds on favs through the week, And so on

Usually do Utd to win the league,Keeps it interesting.Never did it this season though.

Would have got £1750 back if Aguero wouldn't have scored that goal for City the other year against QPR,was gutted especially as all the Kopites were buzzin about it.

Won a few though so it was always a decent bet,not to sure about it now Ferguson has retired.

I backed Manchester United not two win a major trophy for the next two seasons.
I back multi league winners etc.

I have put money each month since it was announced that Brazil had the 2014 World Cup that Brazil would win it ( no qualification ) so I have a decent head start come the tournament kick off..

I'm sure you'd get a price for Froome, but it won't be bigger than double figures I'd guess.. If it is, I'd have a bit myself !
