London's grip on football....

Putting aside his point about football... the comment about no one who lives here liking it couldn't be further from the truth, everyone i know who lives here loves it, myself included.

if i lived in Peckham i might think differently though, but i don't... i live in a boss part of london.

Peckham's up and coming mate, or maybe that's East Dulwich  Like you, I don't tend to meet many people that don't like it here.

They dont own it though. Just a long lease to play there. Dont know the full details though.

edit. They share naming rights income and catering and stuff income with Newham Council.

Whichever way you cut it, it's still a scandal that they've got it so cheap. As Eggs says, give it 5 years and they'll have gone passed us & Villa and even Spurs if they don't get their new stadium done in time.
No wonder Leyton Orient are fuming (though I suspect Barry Hearn is the main driver there TBH)

I didn't like living in London, but I think I'd put that down to working too much and not enjoying my time there. I now live 45 mins away and commute here, and being able to separate my life from the city, I love the place.

Is this story that the countries biggest city has football clubs?

They list like 7 or 8 clubs in meaningless positions.. What's the story here?

If Man City are the template, then absolutely.

WHU also have the benefit of there being no club in London with 'London' in their name. Means, unlike Everton, their name will not hold them back. Everton will never be the biggest club in Liverpool whilst there's a club called Liverpool hanging around.

They are going to capitalise on this, below is their new badge, first team with London on badge, soon they'll be rebranded the "London Hammers" or some such.

Yes, good point, I'd forgotten they'd gone for that. So tacky and desperate.

Laughing at the inclusion of Liverpool as a 'marginalised' example. They can purchase anyone the **** they want and living in the north west doesn't stop United's attractiveness.

One thing that should happen though is that infrastructure projects mooted for a region includes football clubs. The football quarter in the north end is a prime example here. The generation of the north end of the city should receive a lot of cash with a refurb of Goodison to match the private and public sector investment in Anfield. Everton, basically, should have a stadium built out of the public purse as a driver to stimulate the local economy. Which would allow us also to get a foothold on investment.

It's only going to get worse, especially with the London centric media devoting more time to West Ham, compared to say Aston Villa, despite not even comparing on a historical scale to them among numerous examples that I can think of.

I predict West Ham will be the next big thing.

Once they move into the Olympic Stadium watch the foreign investment flood into the club.

That is why I felt it was important they were relegated season to set the transformation back a bit.

Obviously it's a disadvantage but Aston Villa are bigger than Birmingham City and Juventus are bigger than Torino.

Fortunately, Everton's growth prospects are in markets that do not have L postcodes. Most of the football supporters with L postcodes are already spoken for.
