A mix up between me and the Gringette mean I've ended up locked out of the house. She's working at the 20/20 cricket at the Gabba tonight so I can't exactly rock up and ask to speak to her so I started trying to work out how to get in.

All of our windows have security screens and I'd just borrowed some tools from a neighbour and was all ready to start generally dismantling my house when I had an epiphany.

Wireless internet, plus work laptop, plus beers under the house and ice from the servo and I'm ready to settle in for an evening getting aquainted with my garden while chatting [Poor language removed] on GOT. Perfick

Beats the days back home coming back pissed and skinning up frosty drainpipes to climb in the tiny bathroom window. Anyone else got any other good getting locked out stories? Any near death plunges, expensive breakages etc... tell us your triumphs of self burglary or epic fails right here.

That costs money my friend and I have too much Scottish blood in these veins. (y)

Dark clouds overhead now and I'm only on my second beer. It hasn't rained in Brisbane for 2 weeks but tonight might just be the night. :@

Yeah I posted last year one. Me and the missus got back late, and a mixup occurred. We took the door key of her keys because we needed to get in and she needed the car to get home one day - and forgot to put the key back on.

(5 hours earlier)
I remember lobbing my keys onto the top (complete with door key), and left the house. When we got back we realised our mistake and thought about how we could break in.

Just wasn't going to happen, so at 1.30am we didn't know what to do. Then I looked through the back window and noticed my keys were not on the kitchen top, they were on the floor.

*Flashback to remembering my keys hitting the kitchen top and then slipping onto the floor - in my haste I just left them there.*

We saw where they were but we were never going to reach them through the cat flap. A quick search through the shed and we found two mop handles, and a skipping rope. We soon fashioned a long pole to use in aiding us in our break in.

With me directing through the window, the wife proceeded to hook the keys through the cat flap.

5 minutes later - problem solved.
 
Quality that Ghost, that's the sort of thing you expect in a Western jailbreak. The clouds here have now dispersed too, happy days! 4 hours until the Gringette returns (y)
 

Mine's fairly unimpressive. Got back from a badminton match to find I'd forgotten my keys and had a good couple of hours to wait before folks got back. Thankfully I'd also forgotten to shut the garage window properly and it was on vent. Managed to get that open with a stick and hopped in. Sorted.

i'm on call mate, but it could take me a while to get to you, and i would need to charge for mileage.

i have hundreds of locked out stories, and quite a few locked in stories.


sample : arrive at an 'arl cottage in lymm, fat bashtard shouts through skinny window, here's my car keys, the house key is in the glove compartment. kerching !!!
p.s. had easier ones than that as well.

Love them jobs too few and far between though.

The other morning went down stairs at 6.15am opened front door put on shoes pulled door closed and realised i only had my car keys.:dodgy:Porch door is locked so i was left with a choice bang down the hall door and get the missus up:@ or crawl through porch window fall out cripple myself landing on kids bikes and wake neighbours.

So obviously i choose the second option.(y)
