When's the deadline for us arranging this? Tonight?

Would think we'd want a few of the kids going somewhere they'll play reguarly. Garbutt, Barkley, Junior, Vellios and Duffy would probably all benefit from it. Maybe even Gueye too.

Lower clubs can still loan players after the deadline, just not on a 'long term' deal.

So what, we can loan to a lower league club for a few months after tonight but today is the last time to arrange year long deals or deals with other top flight clubs? Does that include Celtic and Olympiakos or is it just english top flight clubs?

With the size of our squad unless we get some new faces in I'd be surprised if anyone close to the first team squad (ie Guaye, Barkley, Velios et al) were let go. Maybe the odd 1 month deal here and there, but nothing long-term.

If we buy this costa rican lid, garbutt will be either third or fourth choice at left back, likewise if we buy Nzonzi that puts Junior third or fourth choice at holding midfielder.

Barkley is already third or fourth choice at attacking midfielder and Gueye will likely be behind Pienaar, Kev and Oviedo for starting on the left and behind Naismith, Osman and Kev for starting on the right.

Even Vellios is probably going to be thrid choice behind Jelavic and Anichebe. And Duffy is behind three very established CBs in the pecking order.

I'm not saying we should loan out all six of them at once but certanly I think we can afford to send some of them out to get the minutes on the pitch they clearly need.

It's certainly a good way for them to garner experience, while retaining them on our books and being able to recall them in an injury crisis.

Even big Neville Southall benefitted from this.

For sure, I've no problem with some of the younger lads going out on loan, but think they should be short-term deals rather than season long affairs. If injuries strike we need the ability to bring them back as cover for the senior lads.

Yeah, that's the worry. I'm sure if there'd still be clauses that they could come back if it was urgent. Can't help thinking though if, say, we had injuries/suspensions at the back, that Moyes would put Neville, Hibbert or even Fellaini at centre back than recall Duffy from a loan.

Spot on mate, at least 1 of them should be staying in the PL too if we can find them a club. if not all deserve a crack at the championship IMO.

I'd go as far as saying that Lundstram should go out too.
