Living in Bradford

NOW THIS IS MY SORT OF THREAD LADS!!!!!

But seriously a few things to ponder before making the plunge. The city centre is under a redevelopment which has been going on since 2001 and quite frankly London during the Blitz looked better. More and more shops are being closed being replaced by poundlands and other discount small shops. The city is also a haven of racial tension which is dying down slightly but it is a divided city, not just asians but a rather large Polish and other Eastern European influx, but most will not be bothered by this. If you want to work here live in Leeds. The train service is regular and it is a thriving city next to the Cancer that is Bradford. Other options are Ilkley, Baildon, Halifax and others

However. It does have the best Curry Houses in the country and folk are more than welcoming. It is a city in the midst of a renovation but with a target date of 2020 which to be honest is still unrealistic. The town hall has some decent bars and the cinema complex is decent but nothing spectacular. Little Germany is a artistic place to visit and a short trip to Saltaire is a world heritage site which is very scenic and an ideal place to live.

Plus we are the best type of people. If it int Yorkshire its Sh!te etc
An honest yet damning view, as we Bradfordians say: "It is a Sh!thole, but it's OUR Sh!thole".

Well if that doesn't clinch the deal Frank, I don't know what would......

Cheers James that's certainly a good insight into the place mate.

Basically, the best advice i can give is working in the City Centre is fine but not living there. Leeds and the other mentioned places are much nicer and the train service is particularly good so you will be able to make it into work from Leeds in just over 10 minutes on the train. Good luck in whatever you do but i look forward to welcoming you as a Bradford lad soon..........innit

And Frank, don't forget to say hello to his missus.........

Some stuff deserving of ridicule in this thread. Its a city like most others good and bad. To be honest Leeds may offer you more and is very close

Queens Hall, fit birds galore, teetering on high heels during heavy snowfalls, that's what I remember about a night out in Bratford
