Liverpool - Weekend 4/5 April???

What's going on in Liverpool on the weekend of the 4th and 5th April?

I've been trying to get accomodation and a mate has been trying to get flights/trains from London (for the Southampton game) and everything is sold out or stupid prices.

The following weekend is the Grand National and everything is fine!

Any ideas?

....yep, Grand National meeting starts on 9th. Maybe the City is just a popular place, don't think it's conference season.

Try a hostel mate, my mate stayed in the Hatters one on Brownlow Hill for weeks and it was alright. Decent breakfast too.

Yeah was looking at that place. Going to give the game a miss though as my mate can't get up from London

Try the Youth hostel on Wapping. It's basic but spotlessly clean, great location for city centre - 5 mins walk and next door to one of the best real ale pubs in the city - the Baltic Fleet.

Have a look at this place, it's right on the edge of Liverpool, but the fella that runs it is sound and will run you into town - The Barn B and B, Ramsbrook Lane, Hale, L 24.
