Just booked tickets to see Doves at the Olympia, in the process of booking a hotel. I realise its in West Derby but is that within walking distance from Lime Street station or any advise on what hotel to book? Also got to be within a stones throw of The Lisbon.

Cheers.

The Olympia's 20 to 25 mins walk from Lime Street mate.
Havn't a clue on hotels, and it'll depend on your budget.

Thanks, just wasn't sure what the taxi situation would be like getting back. I've booked the Ibis on Dale Street. Thanks for the advice.

You'll be sound there mate . There are normally a few black cabs on a little rank waiting outside the olympia, after gigs have finished mate, so you shouldn't have a problem.

You could always book a private hire cab as well mate.

Have a boss gig.

Good venue that for a big band ;)

Have you thought about having a look for an Air BnB ?

Probably similar priced to a hotel and loads of them in the City Centre.

If you go the Lisbon before, they will tell ye to get your arse back there after the giglollol

Tremendous venue.

Have a boss time @Rakti , as will I!

It is a great place to watch a band. Small(ish) but large enough to find a bit of space at the back and they actually put enough staff on the bar.

Went watching Happy Mondays a couple of years back. I'd cynically figured the tour was more about paying the taxman than any real desire to play but they were really good. My abiding memory though is Rowetta having to make a costume change as her original choice of top was really struggling to fully contain things when she was dancing.
