Now, bear with me here.

You probably all remember it as a steam train fest with a few mummys.

Took my daughter today, there was

Dinosaurs, the BBC filming, free 3D dinososaur event.
Free face painting, as well a the usual painting, crafts, story reading & aqauriam and midievil stuff.

Egypt, Rome and spiders penguins birds and amazing kids library.

Thoroughly brilliant day out, if you have never bothered like me, I would.

This is the "old musuem" as we know it.

All for free as well, I was always into paid days out erx

I took the bin lids the Maritime Museum over the 6 weeks Holiday, they where a bit meh, but we spent most of a day there.

They had me at free!

Liverpool Museum is boss, haven't been the new one by the Pier Head yet but have heard it's good.

Went that Louvre one in Paris last month and it was alright but loads of the statue things had bits missing.

The Capitoline ones in Rome are boss with the giant feet and thumbs of Constantinio outside and a statute of a dog with 2 babies, weird but boss.

Museum of Science and Industry is worth a ride on the train to Manchester. Depending which way the train goes they'd be travelling on the line that Stephensons rocket went on, over the first Viaduct ever built etc etc.
They had 'Dinosaurs' at The Manchester Museum, once you know they aren't real though and just lifesize copies it sort of just feels like on the pleasure beach at Blackpool.
There's the Museum of Museums as well at The Trafford Centre (a paid one I think) and the Imperial War Museum.

All a ride out for most, but if you've been to the Liverpool ones and want a change they are all excellent, it may be free parking on Sundays as well.
