Ok.. don't know about you, but hitting someone in the face during a football match.. isn't what I'd call friendly. Hard to see at first, but after 50-52 seconds you can see the punch on the left.

It is irritating. If all players would get cards for doing what McFadden did, then Rooney would get a red card in each game he plays.

Another example of how much the referees are afraid to stand up to the big clubs due to all the negativity they get in the papers afterwards from teh players and managers claiming they ruin the game.

Another example is the way AJ stopped getting penalties after Wenger or Mourinho (forgotten who) complained that he was a diver.
