Locals, aside from going to Goodison every now and again plus a short trip to somewhere like Bar CaVa, I haven't really been many spots in the city for food & drink.

Think I'm going down for the weekend with my parents tomorrow so looking for any recommendations?

Think we might have a spot called Zorbas booked for the Saturday.

Zorbas is very good mate, so you’ve done well there.

You’re a minute away from two of Liverpool’s finest real ale pubs if that’s your thing - The Dispensary and The Roscoe Head.

The classic and fantastic Philharmonic pub is 5 mins walk up the hill on Hardman St from Zorbas.

You’re spoilt for choice really,

* you can do much better than the Bar Cava, unless they like Absinthe!

Oh is Zorbas near Philharmonic?! I love that spot haha soon as I went in my mum was like "take me to your toilet" - safe to say I was really confused and worried at the time.

Into my real ales so will check them out thanks bud.

I was like 18 when I was in Bar CaVa mind haha.

Zorbas is on the corner, the Philharmonic is at the top the hill - Hardman St.

The Belvedere - Sugnall St ( in the Georgian Quarter by the Anglican Cathedral) is another cracker too - for beers and whiskys.

Lovely to sit outside if the weather is warm.

Bloody Hell, landlord sounds like a nightmare: https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Attra..._Dispensary-Liverpool_Merseyside_England.html

Liverpool used to be the pits, as regards food and drink.

Not so today, absolutely spoiled for choice.

We have taken relatives and friends from London, and overseas out on the town, all raved about their experiences.

Current favourite is Mowgli (Indian) on Bold Street, and by the Town Hall.

Maray (Bold Street) is also fantastic, with lovely cocktails as well.
