Had to laugh earlier - Radio Merseyside was already bigging up the Liverpool Ladies team as being super duper, that they want to 'crack America' and all this other B.S. It strikes me that FSG suddenly discovered Liverpool had a Ladies team that was beyond awful, and because womens football is big in the U.S., they see this as easy synergy so they're throwing money at it.
I laughed because all the things that Everton Ladies have done (and won) over the past 10 years, and the consistently high league finishes, never garnered any coverage at all from the local media, and yet this lot 'wanting to crack America' gets coverage. They're not even the best team on Merseyside and never have been.
