So I'll be up there for the match this weekend, actually first one I'm getting to all season (it's terrible I know) and usually I manage to drag a mate with me but this time it seems I'll be going alone. I usually go out around seel street/concert square when I'm there but I'm not really in the mood to go into any of those clubby places and stand alone in a corner drinking. Can anyone recommend some slightly quieter places where I could just sit at the bar, ideally with a friendly and stunning barmaid. I have a vague recollection of something fitting that description in Birkenhead last time but as all I know of as to how I got there was getting in a strange van with 6 strange women in front of alma de cuba and none whatsoever about getting back I might have a hard time finding it again.

Im not sure on quieter places mate, but I'm from Birkenhead and I don't know any good places over here at all, especially places with stunning barmaids. Whatever you do DO NOT go to Birkenhead, you will regret it, stay in liverpool mate its far better.

The Lisbon is amazing if you want to meet someone mate. Tbh I bet you could just walk in there and chat up whoever's behind the bar and end up going home with them if you play your cards right.

Hannah's Bar on Hardman street

Ahhhh Hannah's bar over priced, full of nobheads and the bar staff are a bunch of [Poor language removed].
I really don't think you could of picked a more opposite bar to one he just asked for lol.

But you are right about hardman street fly in the loaf is quite melow. Then you have the pilgrim which is just of hardman street and the cracks just of that as well. There not the fanciest pubs but there pretty cheap melow and friendly. With female bar staff but I supposes those places depend on what you want really.

have been to hannah's, seemed pretty ok from what i remember maybe a bit pretentious...i live in amsterdam so i am quite used to **** service everywhere doesn't bother me. i don't need anything fancy, just some place mellow and friendly as you said.

nik & deloodid, i heard garlands was the place to be. buy me a drink there?

Oh also could someone recommend a decent blue supporting pub in central liverpool for sunday...would prefer having to go back up to county road to avoid being surrounded by a bunch of screaming rs if at all possible

Alright mate,

I'll be in a pub called the Blackburne on Catherine st after the game, usually a few blues in there and we have a laugh, even if it's a bit quiet sometimes. There's a bit of live music on too.

The other pub I'd try is the Ship & Mitre in the city centre. full of blues on a matchday.

DON'T GO TO BIRKENHEAD
