"Live" Threads

Hi all,

I've just made a change to the Everton forum which now allows posts to appear in a thread without any need to refresh.

So, as your viewing threads, posts will appear real time.

I figure it will be particularly useful on match days.

We're trialing it - feedback welcome here.

It was boss when it used to do it before tbh.

What about 'new' folk that have their posts moderated though ?
can you make it so that they go in the thread at the time they are approved and not 10 pages back when they were submitted ?

In fact it was 1 of your better improvements and then it went away.

Nah - they'll need to tolerate awaiting moderation for their first 5 posts. The average new post approval in November was 7 minutes so the moderators are quick on it.

It had too, it was well to heavy on resource and it wasn't supported.

Now we have our own, shiny new dedicated server in the cloud, and a much more efficient forum, we should be good.

No, you missed my point.

so that it gets inserted into the thread when approved (time) as opposed to 3 pages back from when posted (time) or maybe thats what it does ?

No as their post could lose context . Best their post lands when they intended.
