Throw this one in.
Spandau ballet in Aberdeen at the now closed Capitol Theatre 25+ years ago .
They were on the comedown from the heady heights of screaming girls and sometimes boys.
Place was half empty, just couples and girls for a midweek night out.
No screaming, but an excellent show by all accounts .
Still remember lifeline and through the barricades absolute standouts.

Let's have it...the best gigs you've been to.

Saw Stereophonics on Parisast night. They were awesome. No frills. Just turn up and play. Kelly Jones has an incredible live voice.

Seen a few other great shows (U2, muse etc).

I was tempted to see liam Gallagher in paris but can't be dealing with d1ckheads who lob beer around

So, what great gigs do you remember?
Bowie at the Reichstag in Berlin 1987.

You've reminded me: the 3 times I saw Bowie were all immense. At times his voice was even better than it was on the record.

Misfits (twice) and Kiss also great shows I've remembered since posting last night.
During the performance in Berlin they turned the PA stacks around so the faced the East and he then sang heroes. It started a riot in East Berlin, the first time the populace stood up for themselves against the police.

Can't go wrong with a bit of Helden (well, perhaps the GDR police thought otherwise).

Chas N Dave in Concorde II Brighton 2005. Sounds stupid but was a fun atmosphere. The place went off when they played Rabbit and I've Got My Beer on the Sideboard here.

Arctic Monkeys in Offenbach (Germany) 2010. Only time I've seen them live and they were ace. In a much smaller venue than you'd be able to see them in UK

Peter Hook and the Light in Brooklyn 2018. He played 1.5 hours each of New Order and Joy Division stuff. Especially ace hearing Joy Division stuff with his basslines. Going to see him again in the Netherlands in October. He'll be playing both Unknown Pleasures and Closer. Can't wait.

Chemical Brothers Frankfurt 2019. Absolutely brilliant all round, the sound and the stage show spot on. Went off.

I like seeing the Gallagher brothers live too. Not a massive fan of their solo stuff but you can have a good singalong to the Oasis stuff. Saw Liam (and Bonehead) in Cologne this Monday. I like being in Germany because bands tend to play much smaller venues and don't sell out so quick.

Levellers, Show of Hands, Oysterband*, Jethro Tull, Heather Nova, Steeleye Span, Megson

All superb acts seen many many times. The only band I've not seen on my list of 'wants' spider I Floyd - I clearly left that too late. The Who might make the list .... bit pricey though I expect.

One Levellers "acoustic" set was so loud I had to leave and listen from the lobby with toilet paper in my ears.

*best set of the lot - 95 towards the end of Thatcherism (yes I know she wasn't in power then, but still) their gig in Gloucester Guild Hall with its trampoline like floor - about the only time I've ever danced.
