Will spend a three days in Liverpool starting from tomorrow. Booked a show at Cavern for Saturday but need a good advices about how to spend the Friday night in the city, lads. Please let me know which places are strongly recommended for a listen a live rock music or something like this in a city centre.
All help will be much appreciated.

Theres loads of places pal, but I haven't been in to see live local music for a while. Barfly on Seel street used to a be a good place for live music, as did Heebie Jeebies, Magnet and Baltic Fleet for acoustic. I used to just walk aound and look out for adverts. Not sure how strong the scene is now, but I've seen some truly brilliant bands just by chance.

Avoid anything and everything which is compared to The Beatles or giving you The Beatles experience. It will so incredibly bad. I wish we could rid the city of anything Beatles related. And I like them a lot.

The Zanzibar on Seel Street used to be great for live music. Not sure about now as I've not been for a while but may be worth checking out.
