nice one (y)

£150 sounds good to me, moth-in-law works at asda too so will get 10% i think off the price

Don't get on with mine however the wife's mother in law is great :)

when signing up for a new phone check out Quidco - The web's cashback cooperative

I got a new phone (nokia 6120) on a £18pcm 6 month contract with £32.50 cashback = £75.50

cantract - 500 xnet minutes/texts + 300 3to3 minutes
got £35 cash at cex for the phone last week bringing it down to £40 for the six months contract including use of the phone for six months

THIS , right here , is the reason I know nothing , NOTHING , about Computers .
I suspect I'm not utilising the capabilities of my machine .

95% of the population don't either!

like a car needs a battery, engine, gearbox and wheels a computer needs a motherboard, ram memory, hard drive and processor.

I disagree with people who buy high specced computers when all they do is check their emails, listen to music and look on youtube, netbooks do this with their eyes shut which is why I don't need another computer.

Kinda like those ***** who buy ferraris to drive 2 miles to work through heavy traffic:huh:

was looking on ebay to see if there were any cheap acer ones, and i came across this...
7" UMPC Mini PC Notebook Laptop Wifi Windows HQ Netbook on eBay (end time 08-Nov-09 01:10:15 GMT)

now i know it's only a 7 " screen but for £68.99 + £24.99postage they seem a good deal, but whats the score with the operating system and the bits and bobs and gubbings of the thing ?
at the end of the day, it's just for the kids to use and at that price they can have one each no probs.

Android-Mini-Netbook

unfortunately it's only 7" screen at the moment, put then the tablet ones are as well.

a little bit bigger, and for what I use the laptop for i.e. on here, the tablet would be ideal. Pricewise they can't really be beaten as cost less than a mobile or d.s. lite.

Well, operation 'Convince the wife this netbook is a good idea' was a resounding success.

Got me a superb little Aspire One,which I am posting this on (while listening to Slacker Radio over my brand new 802.11n spec wireless network, remember this laptop already has a wi-fi card built in.)

Got it in dark blue, as it was that or burgundy. It has the 8Gb SSD Hard-drive, but also came with an 8Gb SDHC card that sits in the 'Storage Expansion' slot that runs as a hard drive. Running Window XP SP3 flawlessly.

I am struggling to find a con with this little laptop. Well, ok, the keyboard is tiny....but the whole computer is tiny.

Conclusion....buy one if you are looking for a second computer to move around with. An absolute bargain.

Stand by this.
I have the Acer Aspire One in gold-brown color from about a year now and I haven't had a problem with it to be fair. Even played a lot of PES, Footy Manager and a bunch of other games on it, works flawlessly!
