Short, intricate passes and touches I agree, but in terms of spraying and controlling from deep Modric and Kroos are outstanding, so it’s hard to say who’s the best.

Messi is the best I've ever seen, although I'd have loved to have seen Pele as much, the YouTube clips I've seen of him make him look incredible really
