Live: Liverpool Lime Street train delays and cancellations latest as NO trains in and out of station
Train services to and from Liverpool Lime Street to stations including Warrington, Manchester and London Euston are currently suspended

WALL COLLAPSE MEANS LIME STREET COULD BE SHUT FOR DAYS

Live updates as all train services to and from Liverpool Lime Street to Manchester, Warrington, Wigan and London Euston are currently suspended.

Customers are advised not to plan train travel on Northern routes in and out of Liverpool although a limited number of services linked to replacement bus services are available. This is due a significant rubble fall onto the track, which is expected to impact services for several days.

The latest update from Network Rail is as follows:

“No trains are running in or out of Liverpool Lime Street station after a section of trackside wall, loaded with concrete and cabins by a third party, collapsed sending rubble across all four lines and taking overhead wires with it.

“Early indications suggest train services will not resume for several days while extensive clear-up and repairs take place to make the location safe. More precise forecasts on how long the repairs will take will be made after daybreak.”

The advice is quite stark from Northern Rail - do not travel “in the Liverpool or Merseyside region”.

  • Advice for passengers

It wasn't pushed over. It collapsed like any self respecting wall.

I've just found that out.

Had to drop my van off at a garage in Sint Ellen's ( I know, but they're the only ones that can fix it ).

Get to Sint Ellen's Central, to be told the bad news and end up having to get a train to Huyton, then a cab home.

I've heard it's something to do with a firm resting containers on the wall that collapsed lol
