Life without a smart phone

I panda to nobody
There seems to be a focus lately on the addiction to smart phones and how they prevent many users from engaging in a more independant lifestyle. Personally, I think I could manage with a phone that just texts and calls. The only thing I'd find tough to do without would be coming on here, and the satnav facility. I bet there are a few phone addicts on here.

That's me,calls and texts, and pay has you go Ha.

I used to use my iPhone quite a lot for business email. But now I rarely use it. Today’s kids wouldn’t be able to cope without them.....

I’ve probably read more books in the past 12 months than I have over any other 12 months in my life thanks to having kindle on my phone. (And I’m a fairly voracious reader) I’ve sat on Ryanair flights and had them go like a breeze thanks to watching a film on my phone.

Likewise I’ve gone days without looking at my phone when I’ve got better things to do.

Don’t think I could go back to a non smart phone. Having books, sat navs, takeaways and Grindr in the palm of my hand is hard to replace. Spending days on it though is weird.

Couldn't live without mine. I actually rarely turn on my laptop any more as my phone does everything I need. Use it for browsing, watching YouTube, searching Reddit, GOT, social media, live TV streaming, calling, texting, writing friends and family, games.

Oh aye ya cheeky get.

So back to buying newspapers and magazines with stories the media want you to read about?
Worst of all having to converse (that's speak to others not a pair of expensive pumps) to others by making eye contact.

Said for a long time that if I ever become financially secure, my phone would be the first thing to go.

Hate it, but it's a necessary evil for work.

I'm on a £12 per month contract and wouldn't be without it. Too much really handy stuff on there and it's brilliant if you're ever in an emergency or just need to get hold of someone quick for whatever reason. And as @zzr45 says - it makes long journeys a breeze and actually a decent chance to catch up on programs, films or books I've not got around to.

I am however quite capable of putting it to one side and not using it until needed and don't have any social media accounts on it.

My contract is coming to an end, and I think I'm going to get rid of it. I had a Nokia blokia up until about a year and a half ago and it did everything a phone should do
