That is galling, all those lives and belongings just washed away in an instant.

Did climate change contribute to this tragedy?
Highest ever recorded rainfall in Libya I read. 416mm in 6 hours..

Not sure (genuinely) if or how climate change effects rainfall..

But deforestation and also covering land with concrete and tarmac doesn't help by reducing percolation and increasing overland flow.

But shocking scenes in Libya for sure.

Aye unsure myself. Your point about deforestation is pertinent as that happened in Haiti where a mere Tropical Storm killed hundreds of thousands from the resulting landslides and flooding.
 

Truly shocking. Our climate is deffo gone weirdy. Heard today that 3 huge storms are forming in the Atlantic and will possibly move toward Merica forming hurricanes.
