Poor form from Leverkusen tbh, some of their players clearly realised what happened, should have told the ref.

Quite twa*ish from Leverkusen tbh, some of their players clearly realised what happened, should have told the ref.

I don't think they knew though. The reaction from everyone seems to be "that didn't seem right" but they didn't trust their senses, and the referee and opposition did nothing about it either. You can see when they're celebrating that there's a "what just happened?" air about the whole thing but if that were me I'd be confused as well.

Yeah fair enough I'm sure that will have been the case with some of them. But Kiessling at least knows that it's definitely gone wide, it shouldn't have taken him long to put 2 and 2 together.

Looked a perfectly normal goal from the first shot. Not one of the players seemed to make a fuss about it so it's a bit harsh to criticise the referee too much. We need nets with smaller holes.

If I'd have headed a ball on goal, thought it went wide, turned away, looked again and it was in the back of the net, I wouldn't have a clue what had happened. I wouldn't be secure enough in my senses to say "hang on, that's definitely went wide", because with the ball inexplicably appearing in the back of the net I wouldn't be able to explain what had happened.

I just think it's a fluke scenario where a ridiculous thing has happened. The game should be replayed really from the minute it happened with the initial 1-0 lead in tact.

The referee then awarded Hoffenheim a generous penalty when Roberto Firmino was fouled a foot outside the penalty area. But Firmino's spot-kick was saved.

Lads coach ALWAYS goes round and checks the netting, taking extra pegs & clips as lost a cup semi one time to a goal that went in under the side netting.
