Lescott's performance last night..

I agree players like Gerrard should really have stood up and be counted and he wasn't. That to me was disappointing.

The manager though has made some cock ups of massive proportions.

A) Dropping Beckham
B) Playing an alien formation against the best team in the group, both home and away
C) Playing an inexperienced keeper whilst the two best English keepers James and Green were not involved. Ok James was on the bench, but overlooked.
D) He failed to change things around, he failed to be on the touchline like Bilic was, he was keeping dry. What a [Poor language removed] [Poor language removed]!

The FA too.

A) Dropping millions into a stadium that we don't need. Especially as there is going to be an Olympic stadium to be built.
B) Dropping millions into a stadium but forgetting to add a closing roof to the specs.
C) Allowing a Gridiron game to be played two weeks before an important game.

All of this smacks of arrogance, yes by the players, yes by the FA and yes by the manager.

Now pubs, clubs, bargain boozes up and down the country are going to lose out on revenue. But the foreign tourist industry is going to thrive with all the holidays people will be going on instead of staying at home to watch the footy.

i thought lescott played ok. nothing spectacular but nothing bad either.

theres a number of reasons why england failed.

1. the keeper selection is crap.david james is the best of the bunch and didnt even play.
2.england squad selection is based more on what team you play for rather than club form.
3. too many foriegners are pushing english players out the game at club level.
4. we had a team of subs. bridge , defoe , crouch , bent , carson , all not good enough to even start for there own clubs.all bench warmers or candidates for loans.
5. we had arguably 4 of the best players in the world out.ferdinand terry rooney owen.
6.gerrard and lampard play with absolutly no heart when wearing the england shirt.both look as if playing for your country as a hinderence.
7. the manager was not even prem standard. the job was always above him.

if i could single out 1 player who was total rubbish it would be wayne bridge. he was awful and one of the worst performances ive seen in an england shirt.

to tie this post up with everton...(i think we should).........i heard a fan on the news at the end of the game shout "davie moyes for england"..........my answer to that is " NO " . id rather he be at everton.

You missed out one point, the manager likes to stick to his favourites, which is for example Lampard who has really done buggar all for England for many a game.
