LESCOTT - Hibbo's Response

Tony Hibbert says Everton will move on quickly from the departure of Joleon Lescott.

The centre-back sealed a switch to Manchester City on Tuesday, bringing an end to one of the summer's longest-running transfer stories.

Everton turned down two bids for England international Lescott but came to an agreement with the Eastlands outfit after the 27-year-old formally told the Club of his wish to leave.

Hibbert, the Toffees’ longest-serving player, was part of the squad which was resurgent after the departure of Wayne Rooney in August 2004, securing fourth spot in the Premier League and with it Champions League qualification.

The challenge now, he says, is to issue a similar response this time around.

"He's a big loss," said Hibbert. "He was a great player for us Joleon, and a great lad as well.

"The character he brought to the place - he was a great lad to be around.

"It's just one of those things - players come and players go, that's football really. You have friends but the next minute they can go.

"We've just got to get over it."

I am already over it Tony..............
