Lens replacement eye surgery

Anyone ever had this
I'm thinking of getting it but it's expensive and I don't like the thought of someone messing with my eyes.
They take your natural lens out and replace it.
From what I can gather its like contact lenses but they are implanted into the eye.
If you've ever had it or know anyone who's had it I would appreciate your thoughts

My missus had it done five years ago at Optegra in Manchester.
She would recommend it wholeheartedly, and worth the money.
Each eye is done separately, a week apart and the operation itself takes less than 15 mins per eye.
