Lennon or McCartney?

Which did you prefer as a talent? I'm talking about the musicians you clowns not togger players.

I have my own preference. Lennon tended to create songs about ideas, McCartney I had the impression made songs about himself. Its down to what you prefer I guess but my vibe always resonated better with the former. The latter's strangled voice always irked me. Who's your choice and why?

I prefer Paul because he played bass.
i have never been fussed about lyrics from any band, half the time I can't make out the words, and even when I can, I generally have no idea what they are about.

ps I give it 5 more posts before the "comedians" come in and talk about neil lennon

Anyone saying Harrison was most talented, I don't necessarily disagree with, but you haven't read the question ffs!

Must try harder. 100 lines.
You invalidated your own question when you referenced McCartney having a "strangled voice". Come on, whoever your favourite is it is common knowledge that Paul McCartney had the widest vocal range of all of The Beatles.

Can't really overlook Lennon's 'unpleasantness', so out of the two, always McCartney although Harrison was the talent of the 3. Not going to even mention the drummer because he's an irrelavance, which even for drummers is impressive.

....I find it difficult to warm to Ringo Starr but I actually think he’s sung a few decent songs. The album ‘Ringo’ is worth a listen.

Lennon for me, his songs had more edge, McCartney did soft songs, few ballads here and there, but didn't Lennon mock McCartney for doing love songs so McCartney wrote Helter Skelter in response, which some people say is the first heavy metal song, pretty dark rock song by McCartney standards.

I love Lennon's solo stuff as well, greatest hits album shows he had a great body of work post Beatles, some amazing songs.

Looking forward to the new Beatles documentary with loads of late Beatles unseen footage with added Yoko and band tension that Peter Jackson is doing should be out after summer I think.
