I realise this is quite trivial but stuff like this really annoys me and I wondered if it’s just me or is this kind of thing quite common.

My Parents are away at the minute. To cut a long story short, I went round to their house and found my Sister had lent her friend one of their suitcases from the loft. Her friend is not popular with my parents as she is very selfish and owed my sister a fortune for quite a long time. I’m still not convinced she ever paid up despite now having a good job, but my sister won’t have it.

My Sister is early 30’s so the argument seems a little childish but it just seems wrong to me.

Her argument
it’s normal to lend your friends things.
It’s only a suitcase.
It’s only for a couple of days.
It’s no big deal.

My argument
It’s not normal to lend your friend, something that is not yours but your parents. It’s not hers to lend out.
She didn’t even ask them.
They don’t even like her friend.
If it’s only a suitcase tell her to buy her own.
It’s the whole logic of it which is the big deal for me. Today a suitcase, what next?

It annoys me because I remember as kids she used to lend people all sorts and we’d never get them back. I remember us trying to bake a cake in the Summer holidays, only to find the whisk and rolling pin had gone. Turns out my Sister had lent them to our Auntie without telling anyone. Needless to say we never got them back and it was a nightmare trying to make a cake without them. Hmmn cake.

Can I borrow a fiver please mate?

But yeah it gets on my nerves if I lend someone something and I have to chase them for it, I definitely wouldn't lend someone an item that wasn't mine, I think you should administer a swift kick to your sisters face.

Good People always give stuff back they have borrowed, unfortunately most people are not good.

You should never loan out whats not yours to loan or you don't have permission to loan out.
