If Baines gets injured, despite him already declining in skill from what he once was who do we have to fill his shoes ?

We got shot of Oviedo in January, we're supposedly loaning Garbutt to Bruges and Galloway to Sunderland.

So who is there who we have who's a capable backup ? I can't see Baines playing every game we have when you throw in Europa League, FA/That other Cup that changes names too many times and nobody really cares about IF he manages to avoid any injuries.

So do we have someone lined up to buy ? I know we've got Callum Conolly but he's mainly a CB no ? and with only 7 games for Wigan last season on loan surely he's not ready to be our backup for Baines ?

Seems like it's actually our weakest position right now

Rodriguez who left Wolfsburg for AC Milan for 15m. He would have been fantastic replacement for baines.

To be fair we've had Holgate do a decent job and Kenny is lurking too, maybe this season he'll (Kenny) get a role to play.

On the left though who do we have who can even fill in ? Seems weird we're shipping off Galloway who's already proven himself as an okay backup for Baines in the past and there's literally zero chatter in us filling that position.

So unless we do actually have someone lined up then we're going to be screwed and teams are going to exploit what will be a very tired Baines come mid/end season if he plays every game

That was my first thought when I saw the news of them being shipped out. We wouldn't be doing it unless we have incoming.
