Getting a bit fed up with knackering my own car, so looking at leasing a small van. Citeron Belingo sort of size.

So, web site says a few bob deposit (£500) on a personal lease deal, then £140pm ish for an agreed term. 24 to 60 months. With an agreed max mileage. (fair enough). No bubble payment to own it apparently.

So, deposit aside, deliver 5 more parcels a day, works out even stevens, pretty much.

Have I missed something?

How many miles on average do you do a month?

Lad???

Not actually measured it, but 2 tanks of fuel in a Ford Focus CMax Diesel max.

The reason I ask is leases are tiered on yearly mileage. The higher the mileage agreed upon the higher the lease payment. May want to track your mileage for a couple of months.

If you go over the mileage you are penalized at the end of the lease.

Think that's about it other than you get stung for any scrapes and dings when you return it so treat it well. Also if you do go over the milage there are plenty of people out there who can plug it in a machine and adjust the milage for next to nothing.

I would guess the mileage is within a variance of 5 miles every day, so dead easy to track that for a week. It just looks a real good deal, £35 a week, no bubble payment, modest up front deposit.

Leases are great for some people. Namely those who 1. Take care of their car and 2. Don't drive a ton.

I was considering a lease for my last job. Most max leases are 12k miles/year. Which works out to be ~48 miles per day. My job was close to double that...not including any side trips or weekend use. Some car companies do offer higher mileage leases but they price themselves out for a lease to make sense. At least that is the way it works over here.

They will kill you on wear and tear and damages. Be very careful, you'd probably be better buying an old tranny
